'Fellowship, Friendship, and Service'
Founded in 1957, the American Club of Zurich (ACZ) is open to all American and Canadian citizens, as well as others having association with either the USA or Canada, seeking friends and contacts within the Zurich community. The ACZ is a Member of the Association of American Clubs (ACC).

Dear ACZ members,
The topic for this announcement: Baseball. Played locally at the Heerenschürli.
Do you love baseball? Did you know they were playing in Zürich?
Many people I have spoken to at the club have indicated both an enthusiasm for baseball, and surprise at learning there is an active community of baseball players in Zürich.
There are, in fact, four teams:
- The Zürich Eighters
- The Zürich Challengers
- The Zürich Lions
- The Zürich Barracudas
We have started an informal liaison with the first team listed, the newest to join the baseball scene. The history of their name: often in the beginning, when they would meet to play a game, they would be one man short of a full team.

The European Baseball Championships will be in Zürich this year. Help out!
I am proud to announce that we, together with the American Women's Club of Zurich (AWCZ), are setting up teams of volunteers to help with the Baseball European Championships.
This is not something that comes around every year, so take advantage of the fun!
We will set up teams of four, to ensure that you are volunteering with someone you know and can speak to. I have been reassured by the volunteer organizer, Daniela Landis, that there are plenty of stations where English-speaking volunteers are needed.
There are six timeslots spanning from Thursday, 25 July, through Saturday, 27 July, for which we can use people. Once you indicate your availability using the Doodle link provided, we will contact you to discuss next steps.

The Swiss International Alpine Cup features a game with a US team on Friday, 28 June, at 7:00pm. Let me know if you would like to know more.
