Welcome to the American International Club of Zurich!
Dear Fellow AICZ Members and Visitors to our Webpage,
As we near the end of February, let me remind you of the sign-up deadline for a new event that is destined to become a favorite. On February 29th, we will spend an evening learning about and revelling in the works of American contemporary artists, Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. If you are not yet a contemporary art fan, you are about to become one! Sign-up deadline February 26th.
March will also see us gathered for our Annual General Meeting. This evening combines interesting Club business and a guest speaker, fine dining and like-minded camaraderie. (Frankly, the banter and jokes alone make it an evening not to be missed! ) An added bonus is that Club members attend and enjoy a lovely 3-course meal in a historic Zunfthaus free of charge. Sign-up deadline is March 15th, see further details above on this page.
You may have noticed that one of my last names is Irish. I would be remiss (not to mention disloyal to my DNA) if I did not mention the following. This year’s St. Patrick’s Day – March 17th – falls on a Sunday. In addition to our very popular TGIF on Friday, March 15th, rumour has it that some of our more “party-inclined” Club members are planning a get-together at a local pub on the 17th. If you are also of this “party-inclined” genre, keep an eye on this webpage and our Facebook page for impromptu details.
The EC and I look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
Margaret Reilly Baer
